George Frank Goers

June 14, 1936 — April 30, 2026

George Goers, 89, of Kuna, Idaho, entered into eternal life in Heaven on April 30, 2026.

George, the older of two, was born in June, 1936, to Emil and Mildred, and grew up in Centuria, Wisconsin. In 1955, he graduated from high school where he participated in chorus, drama, and track. During high school, he signed up with the U.S. Airforce reserves and continued beyond high school for a total of eight years of service.

While working at Honeywell, George encountered several coworkers who met for Bible study. Through their witness, he learned more about the Bible and gave his heart to Jesus. This encounter set in motion a lifelong trajectory of walking in the way of Christ.

George met Marilyn while working at Honeywell. After some time , he asked her to “go steady.” The two of them met and married in 1958 and have been going steady ever since, even celebrating 68 years together.

Throughout his career in mechanical engineering, design, and drafting, George enjoyed his free time by taking family vacations to the beach, camping in the mountains, and even soaring high in a hot air balloon. It was gratifying for him to serve in several ministries throughout his life, teaching Sunday school, serving as a Deacon, and being the “go to” man for any needs at the church. His desire to design and build led him to building boats, renovating homes, and participating in the construction of a new church. George’s most cherished time was spending it with those he loved.

He leaves behind the legacy of a Godly man and is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marilyn; children: Lynnette (Douglas), Daniel (Cherie), Susan (Cameron), and Kari (Richard); 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and brother, James.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Mildred, and his son-in-law, Douglas.

Services will be held Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Hilltop Community Church, at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Kuna Cemetery.
