Jacqueline A. Riddlemoser
November 8, 1934 — April 30, 2026
Jacqueline Ann “Jacque” (Peck) Riddlemoser passed away April 30, 2026. She was born November 8, 1934, in Grand Junction, Colorado, daughter of Herbert Neeley Peck and Ida Glendora (Frazier) Peck. While still an infant, Jacque’s parents moved to the mining community of Jarbidge, NV in Elko County; a place that remained dear to her throughout the years. Mid-elementary school years were spent in Twin Falls; junior high school was completed in Buhl and Jacque graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1952. After graduation, Jacque attended the University of Idaho, where she met and later married Jack Riddlemoser on September 5, 1954, in Twin Falls, ID.
Jacque was a charter member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Idaho Falls and an active member for 60+ years in the Hillview, Kuna and Meridian United Methodist congregations where she taught Sunday School, prepared auction quilts and chaired multiple church bazaars. She was a 60+ year member in Meridian PEO chapters AD, BZ and CN also & was a charter member in the latter two. She was the Idaho State Convention Chairman & served on several Idaho State PEO Committees over the years. In 2010, Jacque designed & constructed the pieced angel pattern quilt that hung as the backdrop at the podium and stage of the State PEO Convention (and was later raffled to offset convention expenses). Likewise, she was a 50-year member of OES and charter member of the “Cultural Improvement Society”. Jacque gave selflessly to may organizations and interest groups: Camp Fire Girls camp, Jaycettes, Cub & Boy Scouts, Brownies & Girl Scouts, 4-H, Job’s Daughters, was a Charter member of both Boise Basin Quilters & Embroidery Guild of America, County and State Election Boards – serving at election precincts for over 5 decades. She was co-owner of a paper décor’ business, The Paper Dolls. In addition to co-founding the 19-year Festival of Friends artisan’s bazaar, she judged area fairs and Grange contests and taught quilting in Idaho and Oregon for over 40 years. Jacque was commissioned to design and construct the Idaho Centennial quilt (which is on display in the lobby of the State Towers Building) and has had her work juried in west coast shows and national shows, as well as being published in national quilting magazines and the Smithsonian magazine. In 2000 “Glendora’s Girl” pieced quilt pattern design company was born.
Sewing was a large part of Jacque’s life, learning to sew at her mother’s knee. As a young mother herself, she furthered her quilting knowledge with the help of the Meridian United Methodist quilters. Later she honed her skills alongside the MOMS’ quilters. She has been teaching sewing and quilting since the 1970’s. Local quilters know Jacque from her Beginning Quilt Making classes, where she started with demonstrations at David’s Fabrics and eventually taught classes at other local fabric stores, David’s Fabrics (ID, OR), Daisy Kingdom, Fabric Lady, Quilt Crossing and Stitchin’Time; local 4-H groups, at workshops in Mountain Home and McCall; Kuna Senior Center, Quilters Affair in Sisters, OR - as well as her own home. Several of her first students became quilting teachers in their own right. Like many successful quilters, Jacque made a first quilt (without help or instruction in 1955) and vowed never to make another. But with quilting ancestry, a Home Economics major in college and 20+years of seamstress work, it was inevitable that more creative quilting was to come, much more. She set together the quilt for the National Governors’ Conference Quilt. Jacque’s creative eye and attention to detail have been recognized both locally and nationally with awards, acknowledgements and in publications. Cross-stitching, knitting, crocheting, china and tole painting were also creative outlets, as was the painted mural in the Idaho Falls Hospital’s Pediatric Ward. Jacque did declare, however, that she “flunked” watercolor, athletics and singing. She was a lover of books, an avid reader and life-long learner. Looking for fresh rhubarb or asparagus – count her “in”. As an amazing hostess, no detail was too small when planning a party or an event. And anything “holiday” received special attention. All that being said, Jacque’s greatest joys were her faith, family and life-long friendships – “family” of another sort.
Jacque is survived by her three children: Michael Curtis Riddlemoser, wife Beth and their son Christopher M. Riddlemoser (Jennifer); Colonel Gregory Scott Riddlemoser, USAF (ret), wife Brenda and her daughters Ashley & Megan Maggiora; Ashley Kurpiel Hayden (Zack) and CWO2 JJ Kurpiel III, USMC (Jodi); Mary Katherine Visser, husband Garritt and their sons Garritt C. Visser, Jr. and Evan M. Visser (Kayla). Great grandchildren Aubree and Harper Riddlemoser also survive her; Owen, Ella and Avery Hayden; Emma and Lauren Visser; niece and nephew Ann and Brad Heater and several cousins. Preceding her in death were her husband of 56 years, Jack; her parents and stillborn brother.
Memorials may be made in Jacque’s name to the Meridian United Methodist Church, PEO’s “Program for Continuing Education” c/o 3123 Titanium Avenue, #N110, Meridian, ID 83642, the Meridian Symphony Orchestra or a charity of your choice.
