Kathryn Shelp Waite
April 1, 1994 — March 16, 2016
My Life Story
Kathryn “Kaytee” Ione Shelp, 21, of Kuna passed away on Wednesday, March 16th. Kathryn was born on April 1, 1994 in Boise, ID to John and Connie Shelp. Kaytee was the youngest of John and Connie’s five children. Kaytee grew up in Kuna, starting out life as the baby of the family. She was a vibrant child with a “no holds barred” attitude from the get go. She carried this with her for the rest of her life. On November 13th 2012 Kaytee was blessed with the birth of her son, Eden John Waite. Eden brought much love and joy to Kaytee’s life.
From the beginning, Kaytee was never short on quick wit or laughs. Nobody escaped her ridicule, and she took it just as she dished it out. Kaytee enjoyed singing and all who heard her would say she had the voice of an angel. No matter what Kaytee aspired to do, she did it well. She enjoyed running and qualified for the national junior Olympics in the 200 meters. Kaytee had a knack for writing, in 2011 Kaytee wrote a story that was published. As a teenager she took on online gaming and quickly became a force to be reckoned with in the online gaming world. Her dad took many a beat down by Kaytee in the playing of Halo. She was merciless and she kept anyone she played on their toes with her talent and we can’t forget her quick wit and ridicule, she didn’t leave that out of any game. She traveled to and competed in several Major League Gaming events, and was the first female to have a pro card. Kaytee later moved her talents with technology to being a DJ. She incorporated her skills for mixing music with her voice and added an original element other DJ’s couldn’t compete with on mixing alone. She produced a few tracks and uploaded them to soundcloud.com. She enjoyed spinning music at Eclypse in Boise, ID. Kaytee had most recently applied her athletic talents to Poi or fire spinning. She spent time downtown Boise spinning fire with friends, as with everything she tried, she picked it up quickly and took off with it. In many ways Kaytee could easily be considered an artist.
Kaytee far more often than not brought with her a mischievous smile that you couldn’t escape. No matter the words coming out of her mouth. They didn’t always match that smile but you couldn’t see past it. Anybody who met her knew she was a spit fire. She could be teasing you but that smile forced you to laugh at yourself, even if you didn’t want to. Nobody escaped her high praises either. She was no less shy in her praise for a job she saw well done than she was for her merciless beat downs playing Halo. She was an old soul with a love for music that most her generation never knew. She never asked for anything from anyone and gave what she could. She was satisfied more with the simple things in life. Beyond all else, Kaytee loved her baby boy Eden, her family and friends and that love was reciprocated.
A Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 21st at 3:00 PM at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, located at 3100 S. Five Mile in Boise, ID.
