In Loving Memory of Jason "Jay" McGrath September 23, 1978 – January 2, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jason "Jay" McGrath, a devoted father, loving son, and Air Force veteran, who passed away on January 2, 2026, at the age of 47. Jason, surrounded by his loved ones, fought his battle with cancer with unwavering strength, courage, and grace. His family, friends, and all who knew him will remember him for his compassion, humor, and the unwavering dedication he showed to his loved ones.

Jason was a passionate sports enthusiast who loved the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, and Boston Red Sox. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, playing Pickleball, and cherishing moments with his daughter Paige.

Professionally, Jason had an entrepreneurial spirit. He was the founder of Cashlabs and served as Partner and Vice President of BeScreened, a company he founded to advance early detection of colon cancer. His drive and dedication to his work mirrored his character: always striving to make a positive difference.

A proud Air Force veteran, Jason served as a Staff Sergeant for six years and later took on the noble duty of mentoring younger veterans in leadership school. His service to his country was one of his greatest sources of pride.

Jason’s greatest accomplishment was raising his beautiful daughter, Paige, whom he loved dearly. His love for her was immeasurable, and he remained committed to being a positive role model and supportive father. Jason was known for his fun, charming, and empathetic personality, which brightened every room he entered. His guiding principle was to "do something the right way or not at all," and he inspired others to give generously their time and wisdom.

Jason is survived by his mother, Lynne Cote and her husband Ronald Cote; his father, James (Scott) McGrath and his wife Gercina; his beloved daughter, Paige McGrath; his sister, Jaime Dillon; his nieces, Taylor DaSilva; and her son Benjamin and his niece, Haily DaSilva; his nephew, Aiden Dillon; and Aidan’s Dad, Michael Dillon; Constance Wagner (Paige's mother) and her daughter, Serene Wagner; his aunt, Colleen Gagnon; his uncle, Donald McGrath; his fiancé, Angelica Monge, and her children Denisse and Ivan.

Jason’s passing leaves a profound void, but his kindness, compassion, and entrepreneurial spirit will continue to inspire all who had the honor of knowing him. His legacy lives on through his daughter, Paige, and all who were touched by his life.

For Jason’s Arizona family and friends a “Celebration of Life” will be held at DiBellas Brunch and Booze on 9630 North Oracle Road, Oro Valley from 5pm until 9pm Friday January 9th.

For his Massachusetts family and friends a “Celebration of Life” will be held at later date in the spring. Details will follow.
