Joyce Maria Cota

It is with fondness and wonderful memories that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, grandma, and sister Joyce Maria Cota, age 79, who was born to Leroy and Vivian Kumpula in Marquette Michigan.

She was number three of six daughters. She was married to Roman Cota at the age of 18. Joyce was the loving mother of two children, Daniel (Terri) and Rachel (Trevor). She was also a loving and cherished grandmother to six grandchildren, Jacqueline, Joshua, Dylan, Jacob, Nathan, and Ashley. She also loved and cherished her great-grandson, Jude.

We have the pleasure of having a celebration of life for Joyce. She will be remembered for her loving, generous, and caring personality. She was a great mom who always did her best to help with whatever was needed whenever it was needed. Some of the things she like to do was bowl and play pool. One of favorite TV programs was Gunsmoke, and she loved listening to music and dancing.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Vivian Kumpula, husband, Roman Cota, sister Jeanette Sanchez, and son Daniel Cota. She is survived by her daughter Rachel (Trevor), grandchildren, Jacqueline, Joshua, Dylan, Jacob, Nathan, and Ashley, and great grandson Jude. She also has four living sisters, Carole, Jane, Mary, and Lori.
