Cecilia Elizabeth Leonard

Cecilia Elizabeth Leonard, 85, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona. Born on November 24, 1940, she lived a life filled with passion, creativity, and determination.

Cecilia graduated high school at St. Michael's Academy on Manhattan’s West side. She pursued her higher education at Colorado College, the University of the Pacific, and UCSB. Her love for figure skating led her to become a dedicated coach in Tucson and a member of the PSGA. She also spent time working as a realtor, showcasing her versatility and drive.

An artist at heart, Cecilia found joy in watercolor painting and attending art fairs. She was an avid collector of art and cherished her time on the ice as both a skater and coach. Her love for beauty and expression extended into all aspects of her life.

Cecilia was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Margaret, and her beloved husband, John Lander Leonard. She is survived by her daughter Allegra Leonard and grandsons Mattie Lander Leonard and Colin Lander Briggs. Cecilia’s kindness and love were felt deeply by those who knew her, including her cherished cat Lucy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Adair Chapel, located at 1050 N Dodge Rd., Tucson, AZ 85716. In honor of Cecilia’s love for animals, donations may be made to any local animal welfare organization.

Cecilia will be remembered for her loving spirit, artistic talents, and unwavering determination. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
