Petra De Luna
September 27, 1931 — December 4, 2019
Petra was born on September 27th 1931 in Santa Paula, California to Arturo and Rosario Lopez. She had seven siblings.
She was raised in Southern California where she spent the early part of her life living amongst family and friends.
In 1945, she met and married her first husband Theodore Villegas and had two children Danny and Terry.
In 1962, she worked in Los Angeles, Ca. for several years as a machine operator in the food packing industry where she met her second husband Ubaldo DeLuna. They married and had two children Ubaldo Jr. and John.
Mom always believed that hard work and dedication were defining characteristics of who a person was. Although she underwent an early retirement to become a full time housewife she managed to open and single handily run a small babysitting service which is just an example as to how she never lost her identity as a hard working woman.
Mom was a kind hearted person. She may not have had much when it came to possessions or things of monetary value, but she was always willing to share what little she did have with anyone that was in need.
She loved to spend time in the kitchen, kept an immaculate house and was highly skilled in the game of Ding! A homemaker at heart cooking was also a passion and was always willing to make our favorite meals when asked.
Most of all she loved her family and instilled in her children good values that have served them well. She will be dearly and forever missed.
Petra is survived by her Daughter, Terry Gutierrez; two sons, Ubaldo Jr. (Diane)and John (Myra) De Luna; 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Annie Gracia.
