Ronald Douglas Pemstein

Ronald Douglas Pemstein passed away peacefully on March 24th, 2026 in Tucson Arizona. He was born in Washington D.C. to Bernice and John Pemstein. He graduated from Falls Church High School in Virginia and the University of Missouri School of Journalism.

Ron was a newswriter and correspondent for the Voice of America, reporting from Washington D.C., New York, Munich, Belgrade, Vienna, Jerusalem and Brussels during his 30-year career.

Following retirement he was a substitute teacher at Catalina Foothills High School in Tucson where he greatly enjoyed working with students and staff.

Ron is predeceased by his parents and his brother Bill. He is survived by wife Ann, son Daniel and his wife Laura and grandsons Desmond and Kieran.

A celebration of his life will take place in Springfield, Missouri at a later date.

Ron's friends and family remember his engaging laugh, his puns, his love for his family and his dedication to the Baltimore Orioles.
