Albert Lee Kuhn died on June 26th, 2026, in Bullhead City, Arizona, at the age of 88. He was born on July 8th, 1937, in Fort Morgan, Colorado, to Albert “Al” and Gladys (Blake) Kuhn.
Albert graduated from Haddam Rural HS in Kansas in 1956. After a few semesters of college, he joined the military in 1959. Albert served honorably in the United States Air Force for more than 26 years, achieving the rank of MSgt during his distinguished military career.
He received numerous awards and decorations, including the National Defense Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 6 Oak Leaf Clusters, Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Servie Award with five Oak Leaf Clusters, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, the Joint Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal-Vietnam, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the NCO Professional Military Education Graduate ribbon.
He was an Air Crew Command and Control Superintendent for 6 years, a Command and Control Superintendent for 14 years and 1 month, and a Morse Intercept Technician for 6 years and 6 months. His fellow service members deeply respected him and will be remembered for his dedication and contributions during his military service. Albert had an opportunity to be promoted to SMSgt, but he opted for retirement.
After he retired from the USAF, Albert worked for the City of Greeley Parks and Recreation from 1985 to 2011. He retired as the Island Grove Building Facility Supervisor.
In 1962, Albert married Yoko Yoshida in Sapporo, Japan. They were married for 42 years until Yoko’s death on April 2, 2004. On August 1, 2011, Albert married Eiko Kobayashi in Loveland, Colorado. He is survived by his wife Eiko Kuhn, son James (Audrey) Kuhn; and granddaughters Alix (Damon) Kelson and Kalista Kuhn. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife Yoko. He has been cremated and will be inurned at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. As per Albert’s request, there will be no service.
