August 25, 1942 — June 28, 2016

Barbara Ann Layton age 73 of Greeley, CO passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. She was born on August 25, 1942 in Greeley to Fred and Mollie Weber and was raised on a farm in Eaton, CO, spending most of her life in Northern Colorado. She graduated from Eaton High School in 1960 and during her high school years she played softball where she was the only girl on the boy’s team. On September 16, 1962 she married Larry Layton; they had two children and later divorced. Barbara enjoyed a long career in banking and after her retirement she worked part-time at Agfinity in Eaton until her illness. She coached 4-H softball for many years and enjoyed many camping trips with friends and family. She devoted over 20 years to the Greeley Independence Stampede Wranglers, where she served as Treasurer and earned her 20 year belt buckle in 2002. She was an avid Bronco fan and enjoyed watching games each week. She devoted her life her children and grandchildren and her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter Sharon (Mike) Barnhill of LaSalle, CO son Lawrence (Renee) Layton of Greeley, grandchildren Derek, J.D. and Jordan. She is also survived by her sister Bernice Cantrell and two brother’s Wayne (Mary Ann) Weber and Richard (Jane) Weber. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dorothy Paxton. Memorial Service to be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2016 at Adamson Chapel.
