Delmar L. Mollenhauer

March 8, 1941 — April 13, 2021

Delmar LeRoy Mollenhauer, who previously lived in Boulder and Loveland, Colorado, passed away April 13, 2021. He was 80 years old. Delmar (Del) was born March 8, 1941 to Roy and Thelma (Hammond) Mollenhauer in Center Point, Iowa. He was baptized in his youth and was a member of the First Christian Church of Center Point. He was active in youth groups in junior and high school. He was active in sports, music and was the drum major of the marching band. He graduated from high school in 1959. He received his Bachelor of Music Education in 1964 and his Master of Music Education in 1965 from Drake University. Del taught music in Forest City, Iowa and Centaurus High School in Colorado. Del was a skilled artisan in woodworking (marquetry) and traveled to many craft fairs selling his wares. He was also a member of several jazz groups, the most recent group being the Crystal Swing Band that produced CD’s of their music. Del is survived by his sister Karen Vold of Dumont, MN and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Verle, Burton and Galen; his brother-in-law Ronald Vold and a nephew Kenneth Mollenhauer. Del will be buried in Center Point, Iowa.
