Otonoel B. Cerda

Otonoel "Tony” Cerda, 73, passed away on October 20, 2021. He was born in Tamablepes, Mexico on June 29, 1948, to Martin and Inez (Barrientes) Garcia Cerda. Tony grew up in the Plainview, Texas area and moved to the Greeley area in 1962. He worked a variety of jobs including farming, meat cutter, tradesmen, and welder. He married Maria Alfaro in 1967 and were blessed with five children. Tony loved to stay busy welding smokers, chili roasters and building trailers. He enjoyed going fishing on his pontoon boat and spending time at Lake McConaughey. Tony had a big smile, loved telling jokes and dancing. He was a huge WWE fan, and his favorite wrestler was Andre the Giant. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Dodgers baseball team when they were in Brooklyn and later LA. He was proud of his large garden and was known for his green thumb. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends He is survived by his wife Maria; sons Freddie Cerda Sr., Otonoel Cerda Jr., Sonny Cerda and Leroy Cerda Sr.; siblings Olga Zamarripa, Olaf Cerda, Ofelia Ramirez and Oscar Cerda and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and son George. A visitation will be held 4:00 – 6:00pm Wednesday, October 27th followed by a Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00pm at Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Ave. Greeley, CO 80634. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 11:00am Thursday, October 28th at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Linn Grove Cemetery.
