Reed Phillips Adamson

March 25, 1923 — June 2, 1981

Reed P. Adamson, 58, of Greeley, CO passed away June 2, 1981 at Weld County General Hospital. He was born March 25, 1923 in Rogersville, PA to James Stephen and Eva Kathryn (Phillips) Adamson. Reed was raised in Rogersville and attended West Virginia University before going into the U.S. Army in 1943. After discharge from the service he graduated from the Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Nashville, TN. He worked with his father at his funeral home in Pennsylvania before coming to Colorado where he and his brother started Adamson Mortuary in Greeley. On November 12, 1948 he married Tina Syrost at the Eaton Baptist Church. He was a member of First Untied Methodist Church, Occidental Lodge #20 A.F. & A.M., Colorado Consistory #1, El Jebel Shrine, Greeley Elks Lodge #809 BPOE, Northern Colorado Funeral Directors Association, National Association of Funeral Directors and Embalmers, Greeley Chamber of Commerce, Greeley Country Club, past member of Cosmopolitan Club, Knights of Pythias, and Greeley Bowling Association. Reed is survived by his wife, Tina Adamson, sons, Reed Phillips "Phil" Adamson Jr., James S. Adamson, Randolph J. Adamson, Stephen H. Adamson; and Brother, H. Ross Adamson.
