Sharay Burough, 41, of Kersey, CO was born September 25, 1967 to Raymond and Sharon (Meikle) Bury in Longmont, CO. She grew up in Dacono, CO and graduated from Frederick High School in 1985. After high school she earned her business degree at Parks Business College in Denver, CO. In November 1988 she married her soul mate David Burough in Dacono.
Mrs. Burough was a stay at home mother and wife for five years; then worked with mentally challenged children in Platteville, CO and later as a realtor before taking on an active role in Dave’s Oilfield Construction LLC. that she and her husband built together. Although, she was interested in the family business her role as a wife and mother were always her priority. She was very involved in her children’s lives and attended many sporting events and helped with the fair. She also enjoyed traveling and scrapbooking. Mrs. Burough was a very generous and selfless person who frequently put her own needs aside in order to care for others. In November 2004 she was diagnosed with cancer and was not expected to live 30 days. Five years and 20 surgeries later her battle with cancer ended Saturday August 29, 2009 at North Colorado Medical Center. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a great friend. She was a member of Greeley Wesleyan Church.
She is survived by her husband, David Burough of Kersey; daughters, Ashleigh Smith (Remington) of Greeley, CO and Bailey Burough of Kersey; sons, Colter Burough and Clayton Burough both of Kersey; and grandchildren, Amy Smith and Tristen Smith both of Greeley. She is also survived by her parents, Sharon Bury of Dacono and Ray Bury of Keensburg, CO; grandmother, Linn Bury of Keensburg and parents-in-law, Ken and Mae Burough of Ft. Lupton, CO. She was preceded in death by three of her grandparents.
A celebration of her life will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Greeley Wesleyan Church, 3600 22nd Street in Greeley.
Memorial Contributions may be made to National Breast Cancer Foundation in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley.
