Elizabeth Ann Lofgren

Elizabeth Ann (Ramsay) Lofgren, 56, of Arlington, Virginia, went to be with her Lord on July 9, 2026 following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving niece and nephew in her final moments. Beth, or Beth Ann (depending on how long you had known her), was Born on June 15, 1970, in Alexandria, Virginia. Beth lived a life marked by faith, creativity, generosity, and deep devotion to those she loved. A true believer in Jesus Christ, she dedicated much of her life to serving Him through her church and faith community.

Beth spent her professional career serving the United States Department of State as a Contract Specialist (DS/MGT/CAP). She was deeply proud of her many years of service and the work she accomplished throughout her career. Her dedication, professionalism, and commitment to public service earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike.

Her faith was the foundation of her life. Beth was a devoted member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Arlington, Virginia, where she faithfully served in numerous ministries and leadership roles over the years. The church was not simply a place she attended; it was a central part of her life, her community, and her ministry. She gave generously of her time, talents, and heart, and her absence will be deeply felt by the Trinity family. 

Beth was a proud alumnus of Elon College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. She wore her maroon and gold and spoke fondly of her time on campus and the friends she made.

Beth was fiercely loyal to her family and close friends. She treasured time spent with those she loved and had a remarkable gift for making people feel remembered and valued. Whether through a thoughtfully chosen gift or simply showing up when she was needed, Beth never left those closest to her wondering if they were loved.

She had a creative spirit and enjoyed crafting and artistic pursuits. She delighted in fashion and was known for elevating every outfit with the perfect accessories. While she was admittedly not a morning person, those who knew her best appreciated her warmth, humor, and unique personality.

Beth especially cherished her role as an Aunt. Few things brought her greater joy than celebrating milestones, creating memories, and spending time with her niece and nephew. Her love for them was unwavering and evident in every season of their lives. She never once left them questioning whether they were loved, remembered, or important to her.

A lifelong lover of the theatre, the arts brought her great joy, and she carried that appreciation for creativity and expression throughout her life. Beth also spent many Fall Sunday afternoons yelling at the television to support Washington’s Burgundy and Gold.

Beth is survived by her parents, Joan Elizabeth Reppen Ramsay and Dennis M. Ramsay; her brother, Dennis M. "Scott" Ramsay, and his wife, Elizabeth "Liz" Ramsay; her niece, Olivia Ramsay and Olivia’s fiancé, Cesare “Chez” Jennings Jr.; and her nephew, Dennis M. "Carty" Ramsay V as well as many cousins and members of her extended family.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Dennis M. “Carty” Ramsay and Eleanor Ricker Ramsay; and Theodore “Ted” Reppen and Lucille “Teel” George Reppen; and Aunt, F. Ann Reppen.

Though her family grieves her loss, they find comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior. Beth’s faith, kindness, creativity, steadfast service, and enduring love for her family will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2217 Columbia Pike, Arlington, VA on Saturday, August 8th, 2026 at 11:00.  The family will receive visitors an hour prior to the start of the service.  A reception will follow the service in Trinity’s Parish Hall.
