Maria Cristina Castillo, 77, was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion that will be cherished forever.

Maria was the loving wife of Marco Castillo of Falls Church.  She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Vanessa Elsasser of Annandale, Virginia, and cherished son-in-law, Daniel Elsasser.  She was a proud and loving grandmother to Owen and Aurora, who brought immense joy to her life.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Jorge Alberto Zuniga and Maria Isabel Andino. Maria is also survived by her loving siblings: Rosario Ranero and husband Hector Ranero of Manvel, Texas; Gladys Zuniga, widow of the late Jorge Zuniga, of Maryland; Frank Delgado, widower of the late Norma Delgado, of Hinesville, Georgia; Lourdes Lorena Zuniga and husband Saul Andonis Ortiz of Beltsville, Maryland; Cesar Zuniga and wife Cristina Gonzales of Maryland; Carlos Zuniga and wife Elfidia Hernandez of Naples, Florida; and the family of her late brother Luis Zuniga of Maryland.

She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as their children, all of whom adored her and were blessed by her love, warmth, and presence.

Maria will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, unwavering love for her family, and the strength she showed throughout her life. She touched the hearts of everyone who knew her and created lasting memories that will be treasured always.

Though her passing leaves a tremendous void, her love and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

May she rest in eternal peace.

María fue la querida esposa de Marco Castillo, de Falls Church. Fue una madre dedicada para su hija, Vanessa Elsasser, de Annandale, Virginia, y apreciada suegra de Daniel Elsasser. Fue una orgullosa y amorosa abuela de Owen y Aurora, quienes llenaron su vida de inmensa alegría.

También deja numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas, así como a sus hijos, todos quienes la adoraban y fueron bendecidos por su amor, calidez y presencia.

María será recordada por su calidez, generosidad, amor inquebrantable por su familia y la fortaleza que demostró a lo largo de su vida. Tocó los corazones de todos los que la conocieron y creó recuerdos inolvidables que siempre serán atesorados.
