Constance Cummings Joyner
December 22, 1928 — October 21, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Constance Cummings Joyner announces her passing at the age of 89 on Sunday October 21st.
Connie was born in New York on December 22, 1928 to Raymond and Ernestine Cummings. As a young woman she played the piano and studied ballet until she attended Hunter College to become a nurse. After college Connie enlisted as a nurse in the U.S. Navy where she met her late husband Eugene Joyner. They had their first child Susan Katherine Joyner on November 29th, 1960.
They adopter their first son Kevin in 1972 and moved to Ajo shortly after. Following the tragic passing of their Daughter Susan, Constance and Eugene adopted their youngest three children Vanice, Tammie, and Eddie.
Constance worked for the hospital until the mine closed and then worked for many years at the Ajo post office until she retired.
Constance will be lovingly remembered by her four living children Kevin, Tammie, Eddie, and Vanice. As well as fondly remembered by her eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A Funeral service for Connie will be held on Friday November 2nd, at 9:30am, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. 101 W Rocalla Ave, Ajo Az.
