Edward Manuel Francis

A memorial service will be held for Edward Manuel Francis, 79 of Gridley, on Sunday, June 25 at 1 p.m. at the Gridley Inn on Hwy 99E. He died June 13, 2006 at his home. He was born August 24, 1926 in Newman, CA to Manuel and Eleanor Francis. He served in the Navy during WWII and in 1951 he married Gladys Radey. Ed owned Francis and Walters Trucking in Gridley and also enjoyed growing bonsai trees. His survivors include two children, Debbie Starr of Gridley and Timothy Francis of Springfield, OR; wife Gladys Francis of Gridley; one brother, Louis Francis of Sacramento; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry and Jimmy Francis. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Edward Francis Memorial Fund which was set up at Bank of the West in Gridley to help the family with final expenses.
