Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend Dollie Pettry Mayo age 71 passed away after a courageous battle at her home with her loving family at her side on February 24, 2025. 

Dollie was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on April 21, 1953 to the union of Aaron Beldon and Bertha Jane Daniel Pettry. Dollie worked as a wastewater operator for almost of her entire life. Her parents and brother; John Pettry preceded Dollie in death. Dollie was a fun loving, caring and God fearing woman who made her home church at Good Shepherd Church of God in Pahokee, Florida. Dollie will forever remembered for her smile and caring heart that she showed everyone whom she met. 

Dollie leaves fond memories with her children; Edward Ray “Jack” Mayo, III, Stefanie Aryn Mayo Bain, her sister; Lillian “Lee” Sutterfield and her husband Mark. Her loving grandchildren; Kenneth Earl Bain, Jason Allan Bain, Dominic Anthony Mayo and Wyatt Archer Mayo. Her nieces and nephews include; Dollynn Pettry Jeffers, Terria Sandford, Bertha Pettry Sutterfield Gilder, John E. Pettry, Jr, Mark Sutterfield, II, Aaron Sutterfield and Johnny Young along with many extended family members and church family. 

Celebration of Dollie’s life will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2025, at Good Shepherd Church of God located at 1800 Bacom Point Road in Pahokee, Florida. Visitation for family and friends will be at the church on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Dollie resting place is near her parents and brother in Ridgelawn Cemetery.  

Dollie’s celebration is entrusted with Akin-Davis Funeral Home – Clewiston.
