Joyce Carolyn Eaton
April 12, 1941 — June 6, 2025
Joyce Carolyn Eaton, born April 12,1941, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 6, 2025, after a fall at her residence in Colorado Springs, CO. The family is deeply saddened by her sudden death.
Joyce grew up on a farm close to Rushville, Nebraska. During her early school years, she actively participated in the 4H livestock program and won Grand Champion one year for her sheep entry. She came from a musical family and sang in the church choir. Her soprano voice was highly unique and admired. During her high school years, she was part of a girl's singing trio called "The Rockette's" with the Voss sister's. They were asked to perform at many local events in the Nebraska panhandle area and even appeared on a local TV station out of the town of Hay Springs, NE. This was in the infant stages of television. She graduated from Rushville High School and soon married Rollie Eaton and started a union that lasted for 67 years. Together they had 4 sons, moving between three different states before settling in Colorado Springs in 1965. Joyce loved spending time raising her children while they grew up. When they became old enough to attend school, she started working outside the home. She worked at Vicon Industries for 13 years assisting in various stages of hearing aids assemblies, quality control and components. She started attending Pikes Peak Community College and later obtained an associate's degree in electronics. She later started working for Hewlett-Packard Industries as an electronics quality control technician until retirement age. Joyce was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church family here in Colorado Springs where she continued to sing as a member of the church choir and also participated in the handbell choir.
Joyce was preceded in death by her youngest son Todd in March of 2025. Joyce is survived by her husband Rollie Eaton of Colorado Springs, CO. Her sons, Rick (Jackie) Eaton of Peyton, CO. Craig (Denise) Eaton of Hotchkiss, CO. Terry (LeeAnn) Eaton of Pinedale, WY. Nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
