Lois "Ann" Davis
January 15, 1931 — June 6, 2025
Lois ‘Ann’ Davis passed away on June 6, 2025. She began her life on January 15, 1931 as Lois Ann Herbert – 94 years ago. She was the second born of six children to Norval Stone and Alice Olivia (Norfolk) Herbert. Ann was a native of Washington D.C., where she had fond childhood memories of riding street cars, working summers at her grandmother’s drugstore and attending McKinley Tech High School. It was there that she met her lifelong love and companion, ‘Win’. Upon graduation, he joined the Air Force and she attended secretarial school. They reunited and were married on July 16th, 1952 then were off to Travers City, MI for a year to complete Win’s tour of duty. They returned home to D.C. where he resumed work with National Geographic and she with the Bell Telephone System, and would begin their family. For 27 years, Ann held positions as an operator and various administrative roles and was later promoted to Headquarters where she worked as an executive secretary until retirement in 1990.
She and Win moved to Colorado Springs in 1996, where they would live out the rest of their years near their eldest son Lee and his family. They enjoyed their retirement years with their granddaughter, various cruise ship adventures and celebrated 61 years of marriage together until Win’s passing in 2014.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings, husband Winston ‘Win’ Lee Davis, Sr., and son Michael Herbert Davis. She leaves behind her son Winston ‘Lee’ Davis, Jr. (Veronica), granddaughter Morgan Elise Dunn (Tanner) and many nieces and nephews and friends.
