Darlene Anne Dukes

Darlene Ann Dukes was born 2.22.1937 to Frank and Avalon Rasmussen in Nebraska, she was the older sister to Dianne McKelvey. Darlene passed away on 4.10.26 at St. Lukes Presbyterian Hospital.

Darlene was a longtime resident of Colorado but was born and raised in Nebraska. She lived in Nebraska until her early 20’s when she followed her parents and sister to Colorado. She lived in Denver before meeting the love of her life Ron Dukes.

Darlene was Married to Ron Dukes for many years; they had 1 son together James and a Stepson David. She is also the proud Grandma to Demitra, and proud Great Grandma to Taytum and Lidia. Since Ron was in the Military during their first years of marriage, Darlene was lucky to live overseas in England for a few years, she spoke of many fond memories she had there.

Darlene started her career as an operator at the phone company in Nebraska, she loved working there and made many friends. She continued her phone company career in Colorado as well until they moved overseas. After she moved back to the states she went to work for Aurora Public Schools as the Librarian, those kids loved her, she was so kind and fun and helpful to everyone. She retired from Aurora Public Schools and had moved to Westminster Colorado. After her husband passed away in 2010.

Darlene will be greatly missed by many.

Her services will be held at Northglenn United Methodist Church
