JoAnn Koch RobinsonJanuary 24, 1939 – June 6, 2025
JoAnn Koch Robinson, a beloved mother, Gram, Gigi, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Thornton, Colorado, on June 6, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born on January 24, 1939, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jo Ann relocated with her family to Denver, Colorado, when she was a young child. She attended North High School, where she was an honor student and met the love of her life, Clarence “Sonny” Koch. Together, they created many fond memories—frequenting the Scotchman, Carl’s Pizzeria, and drive-in movies. Jo Ann and Sonny were married in 1957.
JoAnn is survived by her daughters, Beth Ann Kochevar and Laura Wardlow; her grandchildren, Stephanie Adams (Jay), Michael Kochevar, Jonathan Kochevar, Rhiannon Lytle, Christopher Daniel (Annika), Lauren Daniel, and Rider Thompson; and her great-grandchildren, Haydon, Nathan, Landen, Declan, Anagail, Jakob, Tre, Gianna, Evelyn and Baby Boy Daniel (due in July). She is also survived by her sister, Judy Seyfer.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Koch; granddaughter, Gia Doane; sister, Jimmy Lee Francescatti; and brother, Gary Bouska.
Over the years, JoAnn wore many hats, (oh, so many hats- berets, fedoras, cowboy, pillbox, beanies, baseball and more, she loved ALL hats!)—secretary, bookkeeper, school bus driver, preschool teacher, waitress—but her favorite by far was as an entertainment agent. She brought live entertainment to venues across Denver and even coordinated USO military tours in Europe and Alaska. Her work brought her great joy and allowed her to travel and share those adventures with her family.
JoAnn had a lifelong passion and love for music and the arts. She enjoyed live concerts, treasured her collection of records and DVDs, and appreciated all genres—from country and western to musicals and opera. Her heart belonged to the timeless classics of the '50s, '60s, '70s, and '80s.
