Lawrence Ralph Gonzalez

Jun 27, 1950 — Jun 28, 2026

Lawrence Ralph Gonzalez passed away on June 28, 2026, one day after celebrating his 76th birthday.

Born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado, Lawrence was a dreamer with a passion for the arts and earned a Master of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado. As a young man, he followed his acting and musical aspirations to Los Angeles, California, where he pursued opportunities in the entertainment industry.

Returning to Colorado, Lawrence built a meaningful career as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of Colorado, where he dedicated 29 years to helping others improve their lives. He was a remarkable single father whose greatest joy was raising his daughter and building a life filled with love, stability, and unforgettable memories for her. He later met his wife Michelle in Denver, where they built an incredible home and life together. After retiring from the state, he began a second career in what he truly enjoyed at Wellshire Golf Course and Overland Golf Course, where he formed many lasting friendships. Music was one of Lawrence's greatest passions. Known to many as "Bubba", in his younger years, he performed in several bands, bringing joy to audiences by sharing his family's tradition and love of music with everyone around him. Some of his most cherished memories were of performing in Pueblo alongside his brothers. His love for acting never faded, and later in life, he returned to the stage, appearing in local theater productions and television commercials.

Lawrence embraced life with enthusiasm and an open heart. He deeply loved his family and friends, and he never met a stranger. His warmth, kindness, and genuine interest in people made everyone feel welcome.

Lawrence is survived by his loving wife, Michelle; his daughter, Laura (Rusty) Johnston; and his beloved grandson, Hayes. He is also survived by his mother, Angelina Gonzalez; his sisters, Patricia, Karen, and Vanessa; his brother, Mark; Aunts Vivian Texeira and Ramona Stanard; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom will cherish his memory. He has joined his father, Rafael Gonzalez, brothers Kenny and Rick, and niece Pamela Gonzalez in rest, probably playing the music they all cherished so much.

Lawrence will be remembered for his generous spirit, infectious smile, quick sense of humor, amazing head of hair, and unwavering love for those around him. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, the memories he created, and the love he shared so freely.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
