Sheryl Lee Gerwing (Updike)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sherry Gerwing, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Sherry passed away in the early hours of March 10, 2025 at the Swedish Medical center in Englewood Colorado.

Sherry leaves behind her husband, Mike Gerwing, son Robert (Sandra) McPhate and daughter Jennifer McPhate, her grandchildren Trevor McPhate, Robert Baskerville Jr.II, Tierra Baskerville, Dylan McPhate and Jaidyn McPhate, and great grandchildren Robert Baskerville Jr.III, Xavior McPhate, Keanu Mcphate. She also leaves behind siblings Steve (Vickie) Updike, Sandy (Robert) Corkhill and Sally (Brad) Huschka as well as many nieces and nephews.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Melba Updike and siblings Stan Updike, Sue Butler, Stacey Updike and Scott Updike.

Sherry was a true fighter. Over the past few years, Sherry had many, many health issues. Through every one though, she fought like a champion and won…except this last one…she fought really hard…but this time she did not win. 

We will continue to love and miss Sherry every single day and hopefully fight for life like she did. RIP and fly high…Love you always…Love you more.
