Anne Marie Jordan
October 29, 1931 — November 19, 2021
Obituary
On November 19, 2021, Ann Marie (Piatt, Tennyson) Jordan, six-year resident of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord, Jesus Christ, and received her heavenly reward.
Ann was born in New Lebanon, Ohio, on October 29, 1931, to Oscar and Jesse Piatt. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Daniel Piatt and Joseph Piatt. Ann grew up in Ohio and Texas before moving to southern California and working for an optometrist. From 1955-1971 she was married to Al Tennyson (deceased). They had three children. From 1975-1981 she was married to Jim Jordan (deceased). She was single her remaining 40 years.
In 1970 the family moved to Colorado, living in Denver for one year before settling in Fort Collins. Ann worked as a Christian Education Director at First Presbyterian Church. Later she worked as an office manager for an ophthalmology practice.
Ann was gifted in many areas, including all things artistic. She played the piano and organ, sewed everything from little girls dresses to draperies and mens suits, divinely decorated every home she was in, baked beautiful birthday cakes, as well as crafted her way through life. She brought touches of beauty everywhere she went. She was an avid doll collector. It was her joy to give to those in need, especially Christian ministries helping young pregnant girls. She was a true and faithful friend to many with an ever-ready listening ear and wise counsel.
Ann is survived by her three children, Cyndy Sherwood (husband Bryan), and twins, Judith Pedersen (husband Gerald) and Steve Tennyson (wife Iris). Additionally, she has 11 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Anns family was the joy and highlight of her many years and she loved them from a deep and generous heart.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, December 8, at 11:00 at Fellowship of the Rockies Church, 1625 S. Eighth Street, Colorado Springs.
