Kathleen Marie Mcpherron

Kathleen Marie McPherron passed unexpectedly at her home July 12, 2019. She was born November 14, 1958 in St. Louis, MO and adopted by Thomas W. & Mary Elizabeth (Trapp) McPherron. Kathy grew up in St. Louis, Overland Park, KS, and West Des Moines, IA. After getting her GED, she went to work in the oil fields. After some time, she returned home to continue her education at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, KS, earning her Associates as an Electronic Technician. She worked for AT&T, then moved on to work with the FAA for 20 years. She loved the outdoors; gardening, exploring nature and collecting rocks wherever she went. She also volunteered with Chihuahua-Small Dog Rescue. She enjoyed fostering the little ones and even became a 'foster failure', a couple of times. She enjoyed making stained glass and being a mom. Kathy is survived by her son, Kevin; sister, Patricia "Patty" & Bill Kathmann; nieces, Erin & Jose Gomez, Lauren & Andrew Morton, and nephew, David & Veronica Kathmann; great-nieces Zooey Morton and Leilani Gomez; and her two dogs, Chester and Nova.
