Kevin Sean Olson

Kevin S. Olson, age 70, of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully at home on September 28, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 8, 1955, and spent his final moments surrounded by his loving wife and cherished pets.
A proud veteran, Kevin served honorably in the United States Army from 1984 to 2001, dedicating 17 years to his country. After his military service, he worked as a Network Technician for Colorado Springs School District 11. Upon retiring, Kevin embraced a new chapter of life with purpose and compassion, finding deep fulfillment in serving fellow veterans as an advocate.
Kevin was a man of many interests and quiet passions. He had a lifelong love for guitars, both collecting and playing them, and found peace amongst nature and in the company of animals. His eclectic spiritual beliefs reflected a thoughtful, open-minded view of the world and those around him.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gail M. Olson (Schwartz), whom he married on January 24, 1975. He is also survived by his beloved daughter, Sarah, and lifelong friends Dawn Murphy and Les Brotzman, who were like family to him. His list of loved ones continue. Kevin is survived by his Brother-In-Law Larry Schwartz and his wife Kim, also Jerry Schwartz Brother-in-Law and Christine Hefel (Schwartz) sister-in-law.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on October 13, 2025 at 11 AM, at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, located at 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kevin’s memory to the Pikes Peak Humane Society or to Volunteers of America Colorado (voacolorado.org), reflecting his deep love for animals and veterans alike.
Kevin’s life was one of quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and heartfelt compassion. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
