Michael William Carl, age 54, of Peyton, passed away on April 26, 2026. Michael was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, veteran, and friend whose strength, loyalty, and love for his family left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army for 22 years. He enlisted on July 12, 1990, and retired on October 31, 2012. During his military career, he served as a 12 Bravo Combat Engineer and 74 Delta Chemical Operations Specialist. He earned Air Assault and Airborne Jump Master qualifications and completed SERE school. Among his many honors and commendations were the Defense Meritorious Service Medal and the Iraq Campaign Medal with three campaign stars. Following his military retirement, Michael continued his service-oriented career as a CBRN Analyst for the Air Force with NORAD-USNORTHCOM (North American Aerospace Defense Command and United States Northern Command).

On June 15, 1996, Michael married the love of his life, Virginia May Carl. Together, they built a life centered around family, friendship, and unwavering support for one another.

Michael enjoyed the simple moments in life most. He loved riding motorcycles, spending time at the gun range, fishing, and taking walks through the fields with his family and dogs. Whether surrounded by family, friends, or fellow service members, Michael was known for his steady presence, sense of humor, and deep care for those around him.

He is survived by his mother, Rosemary Jaworski of Jackson; his brother, Charles Carl of Mount Pleasant; his half-siblings, Quentin Carl and Natasha Rose Lytle, both of Michigan; and his children, David Charboneau, April Cafcules, and Michael Carl, all of Colorado Springs. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services with military honors will be held on June 19, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
