Steven James Kelly, 60, of Centennial, Colorado, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Steve was born on January 6, 1966, in LaSalle, Illinois, to Patrick and Marjorie (McLaughlin) Kelly.

After graduating from high school, Steve joined the United States Army. He was selected to attend Air Assault School, where the class motto was, "Dedication and determination was the key to graduation." Steve served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1986.

Following his military service, Steve attended Southern Illinois University. He began his career in construction and moved to Denver in 1991 to help build Denver International Airport. After meeting the love of his life, Lisa, he decided to make Colorado his home. They were married on November 23, 1996, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Together they built a wonderful life and were blessed with two children, Patrick and Shannon. Steve loved being a husband and father and was incredibly proud of his children. His love language was cooking and barbecuing for his family, creating countless memories around the dinner table.

Steve was known for his strength and his deep love for his family. He found his greatest happiness in the simple moments spent grilling, sharing meals, and making memories with family and friends. His warm smile and infectious laugh made everyone feel welcome.

Steve continued working in construction as a rod buster before becoming a foreman. In 2017, he fulfilled his dream by starting his own company, Denver Rebar. He worked until his body no longer allowed him to, never complaining about his pain. Through every challenge, Steve remained strong, determined, and courageous. His work ethic, resilience, and strength inspired everyone who knew him.

Steve faced life's greatest challenges with courage. Even during difficult times, he remained focused on what mattered most: his family, his faith in tomorrow, and making the most of every day. His legacy of love, hard work, kindness, and devotion to his family will live on for generations.

Steve will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 29 years, Lisa Kelly; his son, Patrick Kelly; his daughter, Shannon Kelly; his father, Patrick Kelly; his sister, Veronica Kelly; his brothers, Robb (Tracie) Kelly and Tim (Tammy) Kelly; his sister in law, Jill Kelly; his mother in law, Sue Schutz; his sister in law, Jackie; his brother in law, Jim; and many beloved nieces, nephews, whose lives he touched.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Kelly; his brother, Brian Kelly; and his sister, Barb Kelly.

Cremation has been entrusted to All Veterans Funeral and Cremation of Colorado. A shelter service with military honors will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado, on August 21, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. Please RSVP with Lisa, Patrick, or Shannon.
