Gerald Stroup
Aug 14, 1944 — Mar 22, 2018
Gerald Stroup, son of Robert and Marjorie Stroup of Millville NJ, passed away peacefully at home in Colorado Springs.
He was born in Sterling Colorado and moved to Millville NJ as a teen. Gerry joined the Air Force right out of high school, and while stationed in France, he met Hilda, the woman that would become his beloved wife. They raised two children in Millville, NJ, their Son, Ricky and their daughter Danielle. Gerry was a skilled aircraft mechanic by trade, managing the Millville airport for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tinkering with cars.
He is survived by his sister Bert Walk of Margate, Fl, brothers, Gordon Stroup of Duffield, Va, and Stan Stroup, of Colorado Springs, Co, as well as his daughter Danielle Chapman in Peoria, IL, 3 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his Wife Hilda, originally from Belgium, their son Ricky Stroup from NC, and his sister Joyce Scherer from NJ.
At Gerry’s request, private arrangements will be made with the family, but please feel free to make donations in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
