John Garcia-John

John James Garcia, 90, of Littleton, Colorado, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015. He was born to Doroteo Garcia and Catherine Mendez, May 06, 1925, in Lafayette, CO. He was one of six children. He was married early in life and had 2 children. He then divorced and later married Eva Minihofer and they had 3 children and lived together in Littleton, CO. John was sent to Saint Clara’s orphanage at the age of 5 and then to Mullen Boys School at about age 14. John entered the U.S. Marine Corp. at age 17 serving in World War II. He was at Guadalcanal, Tarawa and Okinawa. After John’s military service he became a high end cookware salesman in Colorado and the surrounding states. Later on he worked construction and helped to build the Denver skyline. He worked on the Cash Register Building downtown, the old Stapleton Airport and many others. John loved to travel, especially with his family. There were many trips to Glenwood Springs, Florida, Texas and Arizona. John is survived by five children: Lynn Carol and John, of New York; Michelle, Geri and Michael of Littleton, CO. He also is survived by six grandchildren and a few great-grandchildren.
