Deborah Jane Lane
July 12, 1939 — May 25, 2014
Deborah Jane Williams Lane, beloved wife and mother, passed away May 25, 2014 at the age of 74. Debbie was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts to Virginia and Douglas Williams. She had one brother and one sister. She loved her hometown, and over the years, returned for reunions many times.
Debbie had five children - 4 sons and one daughter - and was a wonderful stay-at-home mom while her children were young. She was a skilled seamstress, and her children all have fond memories of the many outfits she sewed for them. Later, she worked for many years in the insurance industry, where she put her considerable business skills and common sense to great use.
After retiring, she had the time to start sewing for the next generation, and made it a tradition to create outfits for special occasions. More importantly, she also made her home a warm and welcoming place for her children and grandchildren to come together often. She was always kind, and unfailingly thoughtful, making everyone comfortable in so many ways. If you needed crayons - she had them, if you needed to spend the night - there was a bed waiting for you, if you had a favorite meal - she knew it, and made it for you. Her unconditional love for her family and friends was unwavering.
Debbie was known and loved for her kindness, positive outlook and ingenuity. Her thoughtfulness and generosity made each person she met feel special and appreciated, and she nurtured lifelong relationships with those close to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, her brother and her son Dale Brough. Debbie is survived by her husband Irvin "Skip" Lane, her children Sabrina Brough, Douglas Brough, Matthew Duane Lane and Irvin Lane II, their spouses, grandchildren Alexander, Nathan, Elliott, Tabitha and Elijah, and great-grand-children Benjamin and Aiden.
Debbie leaves a legacy of kindness and generosity, and will forever live in the hearts of her family and friends. While she will be sorely missed, we are comforted in the knowledge that she is enjoying the company of the angels.
