Andrew Lee Hanson
July 12, 1937 — December 2, 2025
Andrew "Lee" Hanson, 88, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025. Lee was born on July 12, 1937 to Eldo and Hilda Hanson at their family farm in Veneta, Oregon. Lee was the 11th child out of 15 children and he claimed the number 11 to be his lucky number. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather that always had a little joke to make the kids laugh. There was never a stranger to Lee, he really enjoyed talking to people. He was a hard worker and owned Lee Hanson Construction for more than 35 years.
When he was 17 he was involved in a serious single car accident in Eugene. He miraculously survived and had a doctor tell his parents that he may never walk again. He had a long recovery but proved that doctor wrong, as he would say. He moved to California with a friend where he got a job working at a gas station in North Hollywood. He met Madelyn Mathews, while in California, and they were married in 1959. They later divorced. He spent the last 18 years with his companion Biola Klitzke. His favorite hobbies were working on his tractor and feeding the many deer that all had special names.
He is survived by his four children. Julie (Ken) Cluck, Gregg (Sonia) Hanson, Jill (Kevin) Burnette and Krista (Craig) Scoggin along with 9 grandchildren, Andy, Alex, Kelsey, Austin, Spencer, Maegan, Ashley, Justin, Kyra and 6 great grand daughters Caroline, Harper, Laiken, Lainey, Kenslie & Khloe. Also his sisters Clara Ingle, June Bell and Evelyn Yoder, cousin Glen Hanson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Gilberta Overlin, Ruth Heinzle, Jane Davies, James Hanson, Nellie Craighill, Clarance Hanson, Larry Hanson, Edward Hanson, Nathan Hanson, Michael Hanson and baby brother John.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on May 16th, 2026 at Richardson Park shelter #2 25950 Richardson Park Rd Junction City, OR 97448.
