Brenda Lou Hovatter

Brenda Lou "Bunny" Hovatter, 79, passed away peacefully at her home in Melbourne, FL on May 23, 2026 after an extended illness.

She was born in Morgantown, WV on May 12, 1947 to the late Frank Willard and Luella (Devault) Willard. She graduated from University High School and the Morgantown Beauty School, and worked as a hairdresser for many years.

Bunny is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert G. Hovatter Jr; daughters, Tracy Pavalok and Kerry (Josh) Kidder; grandsons, Dylan (Whitney) Pavalok, Kaden (Eve) Pavalok, and Miles Kidder; brother, Roger (Thelma) Willard; sisters-in-law, Debbie Porter and Shari Hovatter; her 'loving' cat, Roscoe; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Robert and Joann Hovatter, and her brother-in-law, Keith Hovatter.

She enjoyed being 'snowbirds' with her husband for the past 17 years but her heart was always in West Virginia with her grandsons, who were the light of her life. She was an avid football fan of the WVU Mountaineers and the Pittsburgh Steelers and didn't like that she couldn't get those games in the south.

The family would like to thank Health First Hospice - Melbourne for the care they provided in her final weeks.

Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Home provided cremation services and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in West Virginia.
