David C. Taylor
May 28, 1945 — June 11, 2026
David Carson Taylor, formerly of Chelsea, Michigan, passed away on June 11, 2026, in Melbourne Beach, Florida.
Dave was born on May 28, 1945, in Ann Arbor, MI, to Wilbert and Ann (Boychuck) Taylor. He graduated from Pioneer High School in 1963. He lived in the Chelsea area for 42 years until he moved full-time to Melbourne Beach, Florida, 10 years ago.
Dave enjoyed fishing, boating, and being with his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and sharing his passion for fishing, inspiring their sense of adventure and creating cherished memories together. Dave was a big kid at heart with a fantastic sense of humor and wonderful storytelling ability. He was a creative innovator ahead of his time and a jack of all trades with careers spanning from finance to starting Taylor Electric in the early seventies. He enjoyed Cavanaugh Lake and Pentwater in Michigan until his journey took him to the beaches of the Florida Coast, where he spent his golden years. He will be missed immensely by all of the lives he touched.
He is survived by his children: Michael (Michelle Schertzing) Taylor of Chelsea, and Lisa (Joe) Hall of Interlochen; three grandchildren: Jonathan (Rachel), Anna, Peri; two great-grandchildren: Kennedy and Cambell; sister, Joyce (Paul) Emerson of Milan; as well as loving nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Wilbert and Ann Taylor, and the mother of his children, Christine Taylor.
Those wishing to celebrate Dave's life are invited to gather with friends at their favorite establishment, tavern, or garage and raise a glass in his honor.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at a later date.
