MaryAnn Skoty passed away on April 22, 2026. She was born in Chicago to Martin and Lucille Zilinger and was one of thirteen siblings, all of whom she loved deeply.

MaryAnn was preceded in death by many beloved family members. She found great comfort in her faith, knowing she would one day be reunited with them again in heaven.

MaryAnn was a devoted wife to her husband, Wayne Skoty, and a deeply loving mother to her four children: Sandra Gates (husband James), Mark Skoty (wife Becky), Patrick Skoty (wife Tonya), and Brian Skoty (wife Melissa). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Tiffany, Makayla, Jazlyn, Colt, Arielle, Cara, Brendan, Shawna, Paula, and Jesse, and a cherished great-grandmother to Devon, Ethan, Caden, and Anastasia. Her family meant everything to her—there was nothing she loved more than being surrounded by those she cared for, and she poured her heart into each and every one of them.

She was known for her incredible work ethic and sharp mind with numbers, working as a bookkeeper and always taking pride in everything she did. No matter the job, MaryAnn gave it her all. She was a provider in every sense of the word—stepping up without hesitation, especially during times when her husband was laid off, ensuring her family was always cared for. MaryAnn and her husband Wayne, were a true team. Married for 62 years, they always supported one another and did whatever it took to provide for their family—when one faced hardship, the other stepped in without question.

MaryAnn had a deep love for life’s simple joys. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, swimming, spending time at the beach, playing bingo, and visiting the casino ship. Above all else, she cherished time spent with her family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Her greatest love, however, was her faith. MaryAnn loved Jesus all her life and made it her mission to share His message with everyone she met. She openly spoke about His love and grace and lived her life as a reflection of that faith every single day. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion touched countless lives. To know her was to feel the love of Christ through her—she truly was a shining example of His light and one of His most faithful servants.

Services will be held at Lake Washington Fellowship on May 14, 2026, at 11 am, located at 4050 Lake Washington Road, Melbourne, Florida 32935.
