Stan Shavitz

Stan Shavitz, passed away on June 21, 2025, in Melbourne, Florida. Born on April 14, 1950, in New York City, Stan lived a life full of love, laughter, and quiet strength.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Margie; his cherished daughter Jessica and son-in-law Hank; his brother Ben and sister-in-law Jane; as well as his sister in law and several nieces and nephews who were dear to his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Robert, and his brother Lenny.

Stan was a proud and passionate supporter of Florida State University—he truly bled Garnet and Gold. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he especially loved football and hockey, and treasured any moment he could share watching a game with his daughter. He was also an avid golfer, and found equal amounts of joy, peace and frustration on the course for many years.

Stan had a deep love for travel with Margie by his side, but he was just as content being at home as long as he was with his family. Some of his favorite moments were spent visiting Jessica and Hank’s farm in Tennessee, where he happily climbed onto a tractor or mower.

Stan will be remembered for his sharp wit, horrible dad jokes and unwavering love for his family. His presence was a comfort, his loyalty a gift, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A private memorial will be held by the family.
