William Roger Murphy

William Rodger Murphy peacefully passed away on May 28, 2026, with his loving wife and family by his side.

Born on February 13, 1944, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he was the son of the late Claude and Mildred Murphy.

William served with distinction in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1967 as an Aviation Machinist's Mate aboard the USS Intrepid. During his service, he participated in operations during the Bay of Pigs and the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Throughout his life, William worked as a butcher in his family's store and later spent many years as a general contractor in the building industry.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Florene Murphy; sons Greg Murphy and his wife, Kris, and Don Murphy and his partner, Chiaki; and daughter Jodi Larsen. He is also survived by his brother, Harold Murphy, and sister, Marjorie Murphy.

William was a proud grandfather to Sean Henzler, Hunter Murphy, Devin Murphy, Jordan Larsen, Taylor Larsen, and Abigail Murphy. He was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Richard Murphy; his sister, Janet Murphy; his grandson, Tyler Murphy; and his granddaughter, Logan Larsen.
