Bob Garry
March 13, 1955 — May 28, 2026
Bob Garry, of Palm Bay, Florida, passed away in 2026. He was born in 1955 and lived a life defined by loyalty, service, humor, and an unmistakable love for the people around him.
Bob served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, carrying with him the strength, grit, and stubbornness that would become part of who he was. Later in life, he became a familiar and beloved presence at American Legion Post 117, where he served as Sergeant at Arms. It was a role that suited him well, because Bob had a natural way of keeping things in line, whether people asked for it or not.
Above all else, Bob loved his family and friends. He would do anything he could for the people he cared about, often without needing to be asked. If someone needed help, Bob showed up. He may not have always been quiet about it, but he showed up.
Bob had his passions, and he enjoyed them fully. He loved playing video games, his Dodge Challenger, time spent at the Legion, and, most famously, Mountain Dew. In fact, it is entirely possible that no one ever saw Bob voluntarily drink water. His dedication to Mountain Dew was unmatched, medically questionable, and absolutely part of his legend.
He will be remembered for his humor, his loyalty, his service, his strong opinions, his love for his family, and the unmistakable way he made every room a little more interesting. Bob was one of a kind, and those who knew him were better for it.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, fellow veterans, and everyone fortunate enough to have shared a laugh, a story, or a cold Mountain Dew with him.
