Charles Lawrence Hall III, affectionately known as “Shag”, transitioned peacefully on June 17, 2026 in Palm Bay, Florida. Charles, the youngest child of the late Charles Hall Jr and Evelyn Hall, was born on September 28, 1938 in Perth Amboy, NJ. He grew up and attended schools in Carteret and Woodbridge, NJ. After graduating High School, he joined the United States Marine Corp and Reserves. He was honorably discharged from the Military after which he attended Rutgers University and John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, NY. He later became a loan officer with Chase Manhattan Bank of New York, where he met and married his soul mate Inemay Slolley. He continued his career by joining the New York Dept of Corrections as a Special Investigator. He was also a Master Mason and member of The Epsilon Lodge #124 of Free Accepted Masons in Queens, NY. After retiring from the New York Dept of Corrections, he relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in September 1999, then moved to Palm Bay Florida in 2004 where he joined the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Melbourne, Florida and was a dedicated member of the Men’s Choir.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife, Inemay Hall, his daughter Chrystal Lauren Muhammad (Ademah) and step-daughters Sondra Hill and Arlene Cramer. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, Evelyn and Charles L. Hall Jr, his sister Evelyn Lomax and his three sons; Maurice Kyle Hall, Tyrone Lawrence Hall and Charles John (Bilal) Hall.
In his own words, “My time here on earth may have seemed brief but I had a good life. It is only for a time that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart; for I will not be far away, for life goes on every day.”
A Celebration of Charles life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care- Palm Bay Chapel.
