Doyle Edward Sorrell Jr.
September 6, 1952 — April 28, 2026
Doyle Edward Sorrell Jr., 73, went home to be with Jesus on April 28, 2026, passing peacefully in his sleep at his home in Palm Bay, Florida.
Born on September 6, 1952, in Crockett County, Tennessee, Doyle was the son of the late Doyle and Ruby Sorrell. He honorably served his country in the Army, National Guard, and Navy, and it was during his service in Naples, Italy, that God led him to meet his beloved wife, Kathleen, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.
He was a man of unwavering faith. A member of Christ Community Church, where his son-in-law, Cody Chester, serves as the pastor. He loved worshiping the Lord and once sang in the choir with joy.
Doyle was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. He had a passion for gardening and could often be found tending his plants or enjoying a friendly game of darts or pool.
For 13 years, Doyle battled illness with remarkable strength and grace. He chose joy daily, never complained, and continually glorified God through every hardship. Even at the end, he remained steadfast and unafraid, confident in his eternal home.
On his final day, Doyle was given a beautiful and rare gift — the opportunity to celebrate life surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren, and to speak words of love and farewell to family and friends.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Kathleen; daughters Sarah (Tony) Trujillo and Kristen (Cody) Chester; his cherished grandchildren, Owen, Aria, Grayson, Amelia, Maison, and Maelynn; and his siblings, Brenda Pace, David (Nanette) Sorrell, and Gloria McGarity.
