Mark Christopher Douglass

January 2, 1970 — May 23, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Christopher Douglass of Palm Bay, Florida, on May 23, 2026, at the age of 56.

Mark was a devoted husband, father and friend whose love for his family was evident in everything he did. He was preceded in death by his parents, George C. Douglass and Jeannette Pennington Douglass. Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Sarah Hughes Douglass; his daughters, Allison Douglass and Savannah Burdge; his sons, Tyler Douglass, Dalton Burdge and Garrett Burdge; and his sister, Kim (Jeff) Brewer. His family was the center of his world, and he took great pride in the lives and accomplishments of each of them.

For more than 20 years, Mark owned and operated Space Coast Pools, where he built and serviced pools throughout the community. Through his hard work, dedication, and commitment to quality, he earned the respect of both his customers and colleagues. Mark believed in doing things the right way and built not only a successful business but also lasting relationships with those he served.

Outside of work, Mark enjoyed spending time camping, attending NASCAR races, relaxing on boat days, going on cruises and cheering on his favorite football team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Whether gathered around a campsite, out on the water, watching a game with family and friends, or spending time at home with his wife, he found joy in life’s simple moments and the people he shared them with.

Mark was a man of few words, but his love spoke volumes. He was known for his quick wit, sarcastic sense of humor, unwavering support, and steady presence. He cherished the company of those closest to him and enjoyed meaningful conversations with family and friends. His ability to make people laugh, offer encouragement, and simply be there when needed will be remembered by all who knew him.

Anyone who knew Mark also knew he had a signature style. You could almost always find him wearing two tank tops, camouflage, or both. In fact, many would joke that if there was a formal version of camouflage and a tank top, Mark would have happily worn them to every occasion. It became part of who he was—a simple, comfortable, and unmistakably “Mark” way of showing up in the world that always brought a smile to those around him.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him, his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched, the family he cherished, and the legacy of love, laughter, and hard work that he leaves behind.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mark’s life on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, located at 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32907. A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 12:30 p.m.
