Susan Carlton

Susan Carlton, age 74 of Palm Bay, FL, went home to be with the Lord on 5 May 2026, at William Childs Hospice House, after a brief illness.

Susan was born on March 26, 1952, in Winston-Salem, NC, to the late Bob and Ruby Bodford. In 1969, she married her husband James who was in the USAF, and she left Winston-Salem to follow James to his duty station. Susan travelled to many states and Countries with James while he was in the Air Force, and she got to experience many sights and cultures. She later retired from Harris Corporation, where she worked as a program administrator.

Susan loved to frequent thrift stores and antique stores, collecting meaningful pieces over the years that she proudly displayed in her home. She was very talented with arts and crafts, and everyone loved the items she created.

Susan is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Carlton, Daughter Shannon, and Son Bobby. Susan has two brothers, Bobby and Timothy Bodford, and one sister, Ginger Haynes of Winston-Salem, NC.

She was a deeply dedicated Wife and mother, and she will be missed and always remembered in our hearts.
