Linda Shell Pearson
August 4, 1946 — July 26, 2025
Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
Linda S. Pearson (1946–2025)Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Friend
Linda S. Pearson, born on August 4, 1946, in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, in Titusville, Florida, at the age of 78. She found deep meaning in her roles as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her presence will be missed by all who knew her.
Linda passed away after a long battle with lung cancer. Though her health declined in later years, her strength and spirit remained steady.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Frances Pearson, and by her beloved husband, Charlie, with whom she shared a love of fishing and quiet companionship until his passing in 2018. Linda is survived by her sons, Travis Scott Dixon (married to Joni Dixon) and Mark Dixon (married to Annie Dixon), as well as her grandchildren: Debra Henderson, Cera Dixon, Jarod Dixon, and Corey Scott; and great-grandchildren: Kyle, Charlotte, Cecilia, and Riley.
Linda's relationships with family were shaped by time, distance, and life's complexities. While some connections were distant or sometimes challenging, she remained deeply proud of her family and took joy in the moments they shared. She especially valued her frequent conversations with her grandson Jarrod and cherished every photo, message, and visit she received.
In her later years, Linda also formed deep and meaningful friendships in both Texas and Florida — many of whom her family never met until they reached out after her passing, offering stories and memories that revealed just how loved she was by those around her. These friendships were a source of strength, laughter, and belonging, and meant the world to her.
A private family gathering will be held in Texas at a later date to honor Linda’s final wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to a cancer research organization of your choice.
Linda’s memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her spirit will continue through the generations she leaves behind.
