Stephen Lester Wheeler

Stephen Lester Wheeler (1946-2026)

Passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026 surrounded by his family in Rockledge, Florida.

Stephen was born at Mitchell airbase in Long Island, New York and grew up in Nassau, New York.

His love of racing, led to a life of being a mechanic which he continued in the army and through deployment to the Vietnam war where he served in the 11th armored cavalry regiment, the black horse regiment.

Stephen was preceded in passing by his parents, George and Edith.

He is survived by his son Matthew, and daughter-in-law Laura , Six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Stanley.

A funeral service will be held on July 27, 2026 at 11:30 AM at Cape Canaveral national Cemetery in Mims, Florida.

He is loved and dearly missed.
