Bettie Sharpe Bordner

Nov 27, 1934 — Apr 8, 2026

Bettie B. Bordner, 91, a devoted follower of Christ and faithful member of Park Street Baptist Church, went home to be with her Lord on April 8, 2026 @ 5:33pm. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she lived it daily by serving others with genuine love and kindness.

She was deeply involved in her church community where she found joy in the Women of Worth group, working in the nursery, participating in AWANAS, and spreading the love of Jesus to everyone she met. She found peace in her rose garden and early morning coffee with a daily devotion. Her love for children extended far beyond the church. Being surrounded by her family was her greatest joy.

Bettie chose a career in sewing where she retired from Artbuilt Awnings with 30+ years of service. She made awnings, boat covers and reupholstered car seats and furniture. She even patched the Ronald McDonald inflatable. She had a love for the simple, beautiful things in life. She found joy in gardening and sewing, especially when helping with Jeanne Lynn Dance Studio. She also enjoyed cruising and had a special love for all things Disney, especially Mickey Mouse. She carried a deep and unwavering love and took great pride in the large, beautiful family she created.

She was proceeded in death by parents William Leon Sharpe and Daisy Sarah Holloway Sharpe, sisters, Martha (Blair) Bender, Lana (Ronnie) Slagle, brother Roy (Gladys) Sharpe, sons Les Bordner, Blair Bordner, Son-in-law Pete Walker, Daughters in love Tammy Trowsse and Pam Dolt, and great-grandson Dakota Cleland.

She is lovingly survived by many including her children Sara Bordner Walker, Earl Bordner Jr., Lisa Hackler Bordner, Robert Bordner, John Bordner. Grandchildren Ray (Sharon) Walker, Sara (Joel) Rummage, Freida Walker, Jeremy Bordner, Chelsea Bordner, Chad (Jami) Bordner, Tamra (Sean) Swann, Justin (Stephanie) Bordner, Teresa Trowsse. Great-grandchildren Raymond Jr. & Montana Walker, Kimberly Walker, Sara Jane, Hannah, Leslie, Joella, & Cayden Rummage, Cody & Joel (Lena) Bordner, Jaxon Bordner, Alexis & Brianna Bordner-Gibes, Mason & Logan Swann, Aiden & Sophie Bordner, Lincoln Spang. Great-great grandson Carter Bordner. Special friends Sam Getchell and Betty Thompson.

Favorite Bible Verse is from Matthew 19:26 “…With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Above all else, Bettie will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her servant’s heart, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. Nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by her family, especially the children. Her life reflected God’s love, and her impact will live through all who were blessed to know her and be loved by her.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering and is now at peace in the presence of her Savior. The same faith she carried throughout her life is now her eternal reality. Her love, prayers, and the example she set will continue to guide her family for generations to come. She was the heart of our family and that love will never be lost.
