In Loving Memory of Beverly Lorraine Smith

Beverly "Gigi" Lorraine Smith (Morgan), born on July 19, 1942, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, entered the presence of her Savior on July 12, 2024, in St. Petersburg, Florida, just shy of her 82nd birthday. She was preceded in death by her Husband Thomas Robert Smith.  Beverly, was known affectionately as Bev, Bevy, Gigi, Miss Bev, Mom, Sis, or Grandma, she was a beacon of love and joy for everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

From an early age, Beverly carried a passion for music. By 15, she had already performed as a concert pianist at Red Rocks, a remarkable achievement that foreshadowed her lifelong dedication to music. She served as a church pianist for over 60 years, gracing places like Constitution Hall and a castle cathedral in Italy with her talent. Her music accompanied soloists, vocal teams, and recording artists alike, harmonizing with their dreams and aspirations.

Bev's pursuits stretched far beyond music. She dedicated 31 years to the Leadership Development Institute, tirelessly working as a Testing Coordinator to enrich the leadership skills of thousands. Even at 80 years of age, she continued passionately helping others grow, reflecting her selfless character. Bev also served as an Executive Assistant at Taccoa Falls College and was a beloved Church Pianist at Northside Baptist Church.

In her personal life, Beverly found joy in the simple pleasures: spending time with family, enjoying a delicious meal, watching football, basking in the Florida sunsets, and traveling the globe. A lover of animals, she cherished her feline companions just as much as her human family. Through her journeys, Bev lived in Italy, the Philippines, Midway Island, and Hawaii, absorbing diverse cultures and sharing her warmth across continents.

Beverly's legacy is carried on by her extensive and loving family. She is survived by her sister Carol Aragon, her niece Kimberly Aragon, her son Daniel Smith; her daughter Joelle Meiring; her daughter-in-law Susanne Smith; her son-in-law Andy Meiring; her grandsons Kraig Bontrager, Cameron Crosby, and Aaron Crosby;  her granddaughters Savannah Shafer (Smith), Shannon Few (Smith), Shela McCort (Smith), Lauren Christner (Bontrager), Suzy Killin (Smith), Samantha Smith, and their spouses/fiancé’s Joe Shafer, Chris Few, Nick Killin, Crystal Miller, Andrew McCort, Brice Anglemyer, and Madison Rockwell; her great-grandchildren Clara Shafer, Elsianna Killin, Lincoln Shafer, Catherine Shafer, Khloe Christner, Gabriel Few, Nehemiah Killin, Adeline Shafer, Kenzie Christner, Lily Shafer, Evelyn Killin, Tatum Bontrager, Isaiah Few, Jack Shafer, Beau Bontrager.

Her family and friends remember Beverly as kind, generous, funny, and loyal, a woman who embraced life and celebrated it fully. She created a safe, loving space for all, sharing her heart unconditionally.

Mom, Gigi, Bev, Grandma, you lit up our lives with your humor, your smiles, your music, and your unwavering love. While we say goodbye for now, your spirit lives on in every sunset, every note of music, and every act of kindness. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished, and we are so thankful you are at peace with your loving Savior Jesus Christ.
