Richard Milton Anderson, Sr. of South Pasadena, Florida passed away peacefully in his home on July 31, 2023. Richard, fondly known as “Drake”, was born to Milton and Edna Anderson, on April 18, 1930 in Norwalk CT. Raised in Rowayton, CT, he later was a resident of Fairfield, CT, before moving to South Pasadena, FL with his long time love, Carol Brown, where he retired after 30 years as a Vice President at A.G. In his younger days, Drake regularly backstroked across the Five Mile River from Rowayton to Darien. He was an avid sailor, comfortable in the Gulf or navigating up and down the Eastern Seaboard in both fair and foul weather. In the winter, he was an expert skier, making annual trips to Colorado well into his 80’s. Drake will be remembered as being devoted and loyal to his family and friends alike. He was loved and will be deeply missed by all those who knew him well.
He was predeceased by his long time love and partner, Carol Brown, and survived by his loving children, Aimee Anderson Montgomery and ,husband, John, Richard M. Anderson, Jr. and his wife, Tina, his grandchildren, Perri Montgomery, William Anderson and his wife, Amber, Krista DiBene, and her husband, Mike. Drake was also a Great Grandfather to Olivia DiBene, Madison DiBene, Madeline Anderson and William Anderson Jr. A service will be held in his honor on August 26, 2023 at the First Congregational Church located at 148 Beach Road, Fairfield, CT at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
