Anna M. Lennox
August 17, 1913 — February 20, 2015
Anna Lennox, 101, passed away in St. Petersburg on February 20, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 17, 1913. Anna the first woman to receive a Master's degree in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania. She married fellow student Paul Lennox on April 16, 1937 and the had a daughter Jean Anne born on January 19, 1940.
Grammy said to me some years ago, "I've had a good life." Indeed;
I agree. A life rich in adventures and challenges and happiness,
from seeing electricity and autos come to Pennsylvania, to
excellence at University, to being a devoted wife, and my
experience of her as an engaged and caring grandmother.
This is a tough time for all of us. And in the midst of it all, I celebrate
the many happy family experiences we have all had together.
—grandson Jeff Baierlein
